Suns shining, cooking out, on the boat and laying by the pool or on the beach that’s how to celebrate Memorial day weekend. Making an offer on a house after meeting with a couple for 1 day makes it a picture perfect weekend for an agent.

A few weeks ago I received a call from a couple in Colorado, they had been referred to me by another agent in VA beach. They were looking to relocate to the Richmond area pretty quickly and knew what type of home they were looking for. I had them look over the property listings in the area they wanted to move to. They planned on flying to Richmond for Memorial Day weekend.

Once they gave me the list of homes they wanted to look at I set the itinerary for Saturday starting early in the morning. We had all the properties mapped out and they were just as excited as I was. I just knew that an offer would be made by the end of the day, and working all day Saturday would be well worth my time.

After viewing the properties, they made an offer on a house that evening, and we put the wheels in motion to close on that house.

This was definitely a win-win Memorial Day weekend!

Anyone can be a Realtor and put a sign in a yard to wait for a property to sell. You might wait a year to sell or your house may never sell. It takes motivation and staying positive to be a successful agent. The real estate market may be struggling right now but if you have the right amount of motivation and positivity you have a better chance of making a sell or on the other end prompting a buy. According to an article on the creative real estate daily – the common real estate failure is “attitude.” Attitude goes hand in hand with how you present yourself on a daily basis. Everyone is entitled to a bad day – but those are the days where you “leave your frown at the door and walk through with a smile”

I have come across many instances where I have been at a store and my sales person just does not seem motivated or happy about where he/she is, and it pushes me away from the product I am in the market for at that time. If I can see the motivation and feel the positive energy from the sales person I know that I am making a good decision and can move forward.

Your attitude and motivation can have a huge effect on people, just being in the same room with someone who is motivated and has a positive outlook makes you want to be positive and be more motivated. If you show your sellers that you can guarantee them you will sell there house and get them to be as motivated as you are then the house will sell quicker in most cases.

There are many ways to show your seller/buyer that you are motivated just by simply keeping intouch with them., and showing them that you are extremely interested in selling there home when the time comes or making a future purchase on a new home.

I am a very successful agent in the Richmond, VA area and can tell you first hand if you surround your sellers and/or buyers with motivation and positive energy, you will be a successful Real Estate Agent!
