Want to know some interesting facts about the population of home buyers? I’m sure if I asked you what type of buyers dominated the market you would say married couples. Well you would be right if you thought couples in their 30’s and 40’s were the largest group to populate the home buying market. But a recent trend has risen in single men and women home buyers. The National Association of Realtors and the US Census Bureau released some interesting facts stating that “in 2010, 20% of home buyers were single women and 12% were single men. Additionally, 36% of buyers were under the age of 35 in 2010. Nearly 26% of this demographic has developed favorable views of homeownership over the last six months”.
So to all the single men and women out there contemplating buying a home, here is some confidence to put in your back pocket.
